Ahogada (Drowning)
Ahogada (Drowning) tells the story of Clara, a 16-year-old, trapped in her bathroom, about to take a pregnancy test. While she waits for the result, she recalls her last time out with her boyfriend Nico, and how he removed the condom without her consent — a practice known as stealthing. The short film aims to raise awareness and open dialogue about the importance of consent in relationships.
Synopsis
Clara is 16. She is alone in her bathroom, about to take a pregnancy test. While she waits, she remembers her last night with Nico — her boyfriend — and the moment he removed the condom without telling her.
Ahogada explores stealthing: the practice of removing a condom without consent. A form of abuse that is frequently not recognized as such, and that Clara, like many people, doesn’t know how to name.
Intention
The short film doesn’t try to resolve anything. It tries to open a question: does this have a name? And once it has a name, conversation becomes possible.
Produced with on-set abuse prevention protocols and in consultation with sexual and reproductive rights specialists.
